Renewing BooksIf you are out of College next week, don't forget to check whether you have any books that are due back during the week. Opening times for the Library will still be the same, but you can renew your books from any computer with internet access using the online catalogue or telephone if you prefer.
Clothes Show Live 2009Tickets are now on sale for Clothes Show Live 2009, taking place at the NEC, Friday 4th-Wednesday 9th December. The show is celebrating it's 21st birthday, and joining the celebrations is Gok Wan, who will be presenting in the Fashion Theatre and styling on the Hair & Beauty Stage on Sunday 6th December. Several members of the Hollyoaks cast will also be paying a visit to the show. Plus, Clothes Show Live is launching the third annual competition to find the Young Hairdresser of the Year, presented by Hairdressers Journal Interactive and supported by Your Hair. New Ebooks AvailableThere are now copies of two beauty books available as an Ebook. These are:The Science of Beauty Therapy, Bennett, RuthThe Principles and Practice of Electrical Epilation, Godfrey, Sheila.You access the Ebooks via the Athens link on UCB Online and then the Dawson Books database, so they are available from any computer with internet access. If you are not sure what an Ebook is, here is a link to the online catalogue info. The Alternative Hair Show 2009
Salon International 2009The 2009 Salon International event, will be taking place Sat 17th- Monday 19th October at ExCeL, London. This is the UK's largest hairdressing event, and includes more than 250 exhibitors and top hairdressers demonstrating styles from their latest collections. Tickets cost £23.00 for one day, but on MONDAY ONLY, students pay just £11.00. See the event website for more details.
