How to Create a Dalek - in 16 easy steps
Considering working in stage, film or television make-up sometime in the future, and/or a Doctor Who fan? The 21-27th April issue of Radio Times available in the Library at both Richmond House and Summer Row has a feature on page 9 on 'How to Make a Mutant' - not as scary as it sounds, as it's an article on using prosthetics to create a Dalek Sec hybrid. You may be interested in looking at this BBC link as it's about working as a make-up artist in television or the information on this Learndirect site.
If you want to read more about using prosthetics or special effects make-up, visit the Library and have a look through Make-up Artist Magazine (a US publication) or Warpaint, published in the UK.

If you are more interested in hairdressing competitions, the same edition of Radio Times has Crowning Glory (page 27) a feature about the 2006 HairWorld Championship held in Moscow. Want to watch the programme for inspiration? You'll find it on BBC2 on 23 April 9.00-10.00pm.
